Bringing arts and culture to the Interlake

Uncategorized

The Green Acres Art Centre is excited to announce that we have hired an enthusiastic and experienced dance instructor to teach classes starting this fall! We were looking for someone who could provide the high quality and enjoyable programming members have come to expect from the centre. After advertising in local papers and diligently researching and contacting a number of professional dance studios with visions similar to ours, we were privileged enough to find the perfect candidate. The Green Acres Art Centre is delighted to introduce Alycia Campbell as our new dance instructor!

Alycia is an independent dance instructor who has a love for sharing her gift of dance with the youth of her community. She has been dancing since the age of three and instructing dance for thirteen years for all ages and skill levels. Her primary focus is the instruction of Pre-Ballet, Ballet, Lyrical, Pre-Jazz, Jazz, and Creative Movement that is of the highest quality in terms of age appropriate choreography and solid technique.  She has also had significant training and development opportunities which have added Tap, Hip Hop, Jazz Funk, Modern, and Contemporary to her portfolio.

We are also thrilled to welcome Miss Elena Modrzejewski who will instruct Friday classes under the direction of Alycia. Like Alycia, Elena has been dancing since the age of three and has been further developing her expertise under Alycia’s direction for the past eight years. She is an experienced instructor who offers a current and contemporary style to the program.

Alycia shares our belief that a community centre can offer a balance of recreational dance that is safe and fun while at the same time providing a strong foundation of skill that allows confidence and personal growth to flourish. We are confident that Alycia’s community-minded spirit and passion for dance will enrich the Green Acres Art Centre dance program and contribute to the well-being of members, their families and our community.

We invite you to join us in welcoming Ms. Alycia and Miss Elena to the centre and look forward to a great year of dance! If you would like to meet Alycia in person, she will be attending both registration nights on Sept 7 and 15 from 6-8pm at the Teulon Rockwood Centennial Centre and can answer any questions you may have.

Below is the dance schedule for the coming year. A description of each of the classes will be available on our website and Facebook page shortly along with all 2016-17 program details. Please contact us with any questions you may have.
