Theatre With Angela from Manitoba Theatre for Young People

Wednesdays $225 for 23 weeks from October 10 to April 24

$225 for 23 weeks on Wednesdays from October 10 to April 24 – Creative Drama for Grades K to 4 from 4:00-5:00pm and Junior Acting for Grades 5 to 8 from 5:15-6:15pm.

Learn to act and perform in a play directed by a professional instructor from Manitoba Theatre for Young People’s Theatre School! Welcome back to our much-loved instructor Angela Chalmers who will guide the students through another season of theatre. Express yourself through movement and voice work, an amazing opportunity for sporty and artsy kids alike. Each age group will perform a play at the end of the year. New this year as part of our “Anniversary Special”, students in Creative Drama and Junior Acting will also be taught skills in Musical Theatre and Improv at no additional cost!

Creative Drama for Kindergarten to Grade Four (1 hour) 4:00 to 5:00pm Cost $225

A fun and encouraging introduction to theatre and drama, this class combines the fun of making simple masks, props, and puppets with the adventure of using those creations in acting out stories. Students develop their imaginations and powers of self-expression through drama games, music and dance, story theatre, and role playing.  A great class for anyone who loves to make believe!

Junior Acting for Grades Five to Eight (1 hour) 5:15-6:15pm Cost $225

What is acting about?  How do you begin? This course gives you the chance to build your acting skills through dramatic exercises, creative movement and story creation.  Learn to share ideas and invent scenes through improvisation and teamwork. Join the fun of imagining, learning, and performing.

Improv/Musical Theatre Workshops for Grades Seven to Nine (1 hour) 6:30-7:30pm

Cost: Members $50 Non-Members $60

November 14, 21, 28 and December 5, 2018

2 sessions of Musical Theatre: Dreaming of Broadway? This workshop is designed for those who are up for the challenge of acting, singing, and dancing – all at the same time.

2 sessions of Improv Power: Experience the thrill and total freedom of creating theatre without a script while developing skills in communication, listening and teamwork.

All registrants require $25 Individual or $50 Family GAAC Membership (65+ no charge) valid Sept 2018 – Aug 2019.

GAAC programs may be changed or cancelled based on enrollment.

There will be one registration evening. It will be a mass registration with other community groups at the Teulon Rockwood Centennial Centre, Tues, Sept 11th, 4:30-7:30pm If these dates are not convenient for you, please let me know and we can arrange to get you registered at another time.
