Green Acres Art Centre

Bringing arts and culture to the Interlake

Yesterday was the first annual celebration of MB Culture Days at GAAC and it was magical! Thank you to all who came out to celebrate and a special thanks to the dancers, those who set up displays and those who so generously shared a piece of their culture with us. Sharing bannock on a stick over an open fire was a perfect way to celebrate each other and end a perfect afternoon!

Bannock Fire

GAAC exterior make over complete! The old art space building to the north has come down and all four walls of the centre are now insulated, sided and looking pretty! The chilly draft from the north will be missing this winter and so will the expensive hydro bills. And a sweet new front door with a window means the foyer is bright and no more door bumps.

A huge thank you to Mark Green and crew for the exceptional care and workmanship on this project and to Wayne Dziadek for the awesome demo show, you were a big hit with the daycare kids!

Thank you to all who contributed to our building project fundraisers and to the many groups who helped fund the project – Community Places Program, Town of Teulon, Interlake Community Foundation, RM of Rockwood. The centre is amazing because of all of you!
